JJ Gittes Investigations

Welcome to JJ Gittes Investigations, a blog dedicated to the tales of private investigator Jake Gittes - the 1974 masterpiece Chinatown and its lesser-known, oft-maligned sequel The Two Jakes.

Here you can find information about the creators, the cast, deleted scenes and more. I'll also be writing about lesser-known aspects of the films, such as the original inspirations for Chinatown, the long and troubled production of The Two Jakes, and the never-made third film of the series.

  1. An investigator's morality is paramount in maintaining integrity and trustworthiness in their work. They must adhere to ethical guidelines and legal boundaries while conducting investigations, ensuring fairness, accuracy, and respect for privacy rights. Upholding high moral standards means being impartial, transparent, and accountable in their actions, regardless of the circumstances. Ultimately, an ethical investigator prioritizes truth-seeking and the well-being of all parties involved, striving to conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity at all times.
